The Concert for Conservation is BACT’s largest fundraiser.  The funds raised support many important projects, including the restoration of BACT’s preserves, strategic conservation initiatives like monarch butterfly and oak ecosystem preservation, Conservation@School programs for high school students and community outreach and education.  Please support our efforts by participating in our raffle and auction. Raffle tickets are $20 each or six for $100. Our raffle items include a sundry of Schwinn bicycles.


Raffle items

This year, we will be featuring one Grand Prize Raffle, an Arlington Park Experience donated by Kim Duchossois (market value $1,100).  This prize includes a day at the races for up to ten people in two luxury boxes, a tour of the Arlington Park facilities or the backstretch to visit the horses, jockeys and trainers, and a $30 food/beverage credit for each person attending.  End your day with a named race in honor of your group, a visit to the Paddock with the owners and a trophy presentation and photo in the Winner’s Circle. Auction Items

Brookfield Zoo Experience (market value priceless, due to the fact that we cannot put a price on our animal expert’s knowledge, but if we have to, approximately $660; starting bid $1200) Did you know some animals can paint?  Would you like to see that? Jim and Betsy Bramsen and the Brookfield Zoo have generously donated a private golf cart tour and lunch for six guests.  You will experience a behind-the-scenes animal experience, see animals paint and receive photos taken by one of the zoo’s photographers. Butterfly Garden Installation (market value $5,000; opening bid at $3,500) Let Bluestem Ecological Services convert an area of your yard into a beautiful butterfly garden of native flowers and grasses.  Staggering natives will give your garden color throughout the season and provide important food sources for our pollinators.

Finally, we will be selling beautiful 7-8ft. oak trees, including delivery, for $250.  Support Mother Nature by participating in the regional Oak Ecosystem Recovery Program ( focused on repopulating oak trees in the Chicagoland area.  This is one of the best things you can do to contribute to the ecological health of our area.
