Conservation Buyer Program
Through the Conservation Buyer Program, BACTrust works with buyers, sellers, and realtors. The program matches conservation-worthy properties currently on the market with buyers who wish to enjoy this beautiful countryside while helping to protect its open, private land. Conservation buyers typically donate conservation easements to the Barrington Area Conservation Trust that permanently protect a property’s conservation values and restrict its development potential. These buyers may be eligible for significant tax benefits while protecting the wildlife habitat, unique views, and rural heritage of their property for the benefit of themselves and the community. Each conservation easement is as unique as each landowner, providing great potential for preserving our countryside through the private decisions of each buyer.
